Oasis

As a San Diego native, I have watched my community's real estate market ebb and flow and grow more profitable over time. Many of my friends have invested in this place we call home and one day, I hope to as well. When CareerFoundry gave me the opportunity to design the UI for a real estate investing app, I couldn't pass it up. Here is my journey to providing an app that excels in providing a modern solution for investors.

When envisioning this app I wanted to focus on four objectives:

Simplicity: Obvious white space with a strong, bold focal point.
Smart: It is intentional about what it wants the viewer to look at.
Colors: The colors present a sense of luxury, elegance, and the comforts of home.
Text: Smart but also comforting.

Mood Board

As I was looking for inspiration for the app, I was very focused on images that seemed youthful, smart, and creative because that is exactly I felt our target audience would relate to. I want our audience to open the app and feel that their investment goals are tangible through the design.

Approaching designing the app layout, I harnessed my background as a UX Designer to design a user centric flow for my app. I did this by ensuring accessibility standards, allowing users to navigate with ease, and giving them an exciting user experience.

Designing to Inspire

The UI strives to be sophisticated. It focuses on what's important and doesn't overload the user with unnecessary content. I opted for smart and comfortable elements to help achieve this. This design is uncluttered, smart, and well-spaced. In the future, I would love to put this app through some user testing to see how users would interact with it and how we could improve the app to better serve our users.
